My
current work explores the ordinary object and its function as an artefacts of
everyday life. There is a long history of the use of ceramic objects as
souvenirs or keepsakes and such items are often associated with feelings like
reminiscence and sentimentality. These objects therefore play a central role in
the development of personal identities and histories.

I investigate and develop the
relationship between the found object and the ceramic piece I create to
house and display it. Using this framework enables me to manipulate the
conceptual and emotional resonance of ceramic objects, and encourage the
spectator to view these pieces from a new perspectives.
